If the Classic Museum version of Black Panther shows the linearity and perfection of form without any tinsel and through a pronounced (and superb) monochromatism, the Modern Museum variant is inspired to a more decorated suit of the character, which adds a regal cloak and a limited, but masterful, touch of color. The sculpt is essentially unchanged, although mirrored, compared to the Classic. Therefore, the powerful forms of the pectoral muscles and abdominals and the swollen contours of the quadriceps and biceps are perfect and very well proportioned. The pose maintains the exceptional particularity of a just sketched dynamism and, at the same time, an intrinsic museum style, thus enhancing the regality of the character. Released in 2010 with an edition size limited to 300 pieces only, the statue is strongly characterized by different golden accessories, which offer a superb color contrast with the total-black look of the figure. Along the forearms two charming bracelets (constituted by long claws) seem to tighten the muscles of the hero, while a sort of belt is drawn at the waist, with an elongated shape stretching towards the pubis. The same gold color perfectly fits on the long nails of T'Challa, thus highlighting the opposite position of the hands (one fist and the other half-open in a sort of grip) and giving them the actual appearance of feline claws. But certainly the most striking element of the statue is the long cloak which falls down with great naturalness and elegance backward the hero, its high and regal semi-rigid flap behind his head and especially the large and golden necklace adorning him at the shoulders level and fastening the cloak at the neck of the character. Some decorative details which give a spectacular aesthetic impact to the whole figure. Unfortunately, the prices of this piece are always high and its availability on market is rather limited. On the other hand, it is easy to understand why: this piece is simply a piece of art and a top-class collectible for any Marvel fan!
